How would you like to be able to walk up to anyone or anything and immediately have access to extensive knowledge of that person or thing? Sound impossible? Watch the video below and be amazed.

Basically it’s a wearable, intuitive. sixth sense device that gives the wearer immediate information.

what toilet paper should you buy?

the latest news

is the person you’re talking to “wanted”?

is your flight on time?

The basement is clean and organized again, so now for the next installment of sites and blogs that I have found of interest to me. For some reason I believe that if you like my stuff, you might like some of the same stuff that I like.

1. Learn a foreign language for free on the internet.

Manga Beta has launched with eleven courses, including:

Spanish

Russian

French

Italian

Mandarin Chinese

German

Japanese

Brazilian Portuguese

Greek

English for Spanish speakers

English for Polish speakers

Each course offers over 100 lessons. Don’t put off your desire to learn a new language any longer. The price is right and think about how you may be able to translate that skill into extra income.

2. Do you enjoy telling all your friends about your latest great purchase?

ThisNext is a social networking meets the home shopping network web site. Basically, when you discover some product on the web, you are then able to recommend it (write a review) and share it with the world. I am definitely interested in trying this site. It makes good sense to see what other people are saying about a product before you buy it.

3. Blogs about blogging

Do you have a blog? Are you thinking about starting to blog? I’m sure that you have a million questions. I know that I did and still do from time to time. What do I do? DailyBloggingTips has as great article ( Top 25 Blogs about Blogging ). I use it as a blogging quick reference guide.

If I have a question, I go to all the blogs listed and look through their articles. Sooner or later, the answer will come.

4. Patriotism

Eric Sanders wrote a powerful article on his feelings about the American flag – The American Flag, My American Flag. All Americans should take a moment to remember that freedom is not free, it has been purchased in blood.

5. You don’t need Microsoft

How do you like having the rug pulled out from under you? Have you ever sat down just as someone yanks the chair away? That really pisses me off. Kinda like when a software company puts a trial version of their software on your new computer and it is usable for only 60 days. This happened to me with Microsoft Office.

But you know what? There are alternatives – and get this – they are free. MakeUseOf.com has a list of 6 free Office Suites That Are Not Microsoft.

I personally like Open Office, but I am unfamiliar with the others that they chronicle.

Hey, I’m tired of paying a Microsoft tax every time that I boot up my computer. I have been researching some alternative operating systems. Currently, I like Ubuntu and hope to have it installed on an extra hard drive so that I can make an easy transition. Any thoughts from you guys out in web land?

Okay, that wraps up this edition. How about a little feedback. Do you guys like this segment? Or is it a waste of my time and talent? Let me know what you think.

O.K. Why is it that when you finally find a theme that you really like, you’ve got to spend a bunch of time working the bugs out?

BoB’s themes

This theme came from Bob at Blog oh Blog, who has designed some killer themes. Go see for yourself. I’ve modified the css on this one to get the color scheme that I want. I really like the clean, simple lines and feel.

Bugs take some time

I’ve come across a couple of problems so far:

when you click on one of the recent posts, the layout kind of goes haywire. The comment section starts to overlap into the left sidebar

when I install anything in the loop of my index.php file or my single post file, things start to get a little funky – depending on exactly where I put it, different things happen – I’ve tried to vary the position, but nothing is helping so far

In IE, everything looks great on the home page – but when you click on a recent post, the sidebars drop down about a full page distance

I just found another bug – when you click on comments from the home page, things start to intrude into the left sidebar

Bob’s on the job

I’ve emailed Bob and he has gotten back with me that he is checking on the situation. I have full faith that we get the theme running right. I read all of the comments and replies between Bob and other down-loaders, and it is apparent that Bob takes great pride in his themes. I have full faith in him and his skills.

As I stated yesterday, we met some really great people at the American Physical Therapy Association conference in Denver last week. The number of great products available to help speed the recovery of physical therapy patients is phenominal.

One really great idea from the show is a web based, physical therapy program that works to bring the patient and the physical therapist together over the internet. Go to HOME PROGRAMS.NET to get all the details. This is an idea that is way ahead of it’s time and could quite possibly become an industry standard. Kudos to Kevin Rausch for bringing this unique idea to reality and for providing convience and accessability to the patient.

I was really encouraged by the number of people who took an interest in both our product and in us as people. It is nice to know that there are still people in the world who value people.

After a grueling, but productive week, I (soupornuts – aka Chris Melton) am back! As I’ve mentioned or alluded to a number of times in my blog postings, I am an entrepreneur and am involved in several business ventures. This past week took me to Denver and the national convention (or conference) of the American Physical Therapists Association.

My business partner (Scott Kay) and I were at the conference to introduce and promote our new shoulder rehabilitation device, the Rotater. Everyone at the show was great. We were welcomed and made to feel at ease with both the other exhibitors and the conference attendees. The Rotater was also a big hit!

While at the show, I met some great people, who have great products and provided us with invaluable information:

David Baruch – The CEO of ISO-DIAGNOSTICS SOFTWARE LLC – (muscular and range of motion testing software)

David was positioned right next to us at the conference and was a tremendous source of insight and help. His product, a software package, provides the means to:

create meaningful and accurate reports across a number of key areas

can be used to record a patient’s progress

can be used with a number of different measuring devices

Go to ISO Software for more information.

Brice York – The developer of the TriTask

Brice’s product is a measuring device that provides immediate feedback, allowing the tester to know exactly how much force is required to perform a specific task. This information not only gives the tester the initial workload forces required to perform the task in question, but also provides the basis for the accumulated workload placed on a worker performing a repetitive task over time.

This is a great product for anyone who wishes to determine or improve the ergonomics of a measurable task. How much force is really required to lift that box? If you really need to know, then the TriTask may be the tool for you.

Everyone at the show really made us feel at ease and welcome. Thanks to everyone.
